Experience, structure, and steady expectations.

Master Robert Whitman founded South Shore Tae Kwon Do in 2007 and has been training since 1995. His teaching approach is direct, structured, and grounded in the belief that students grow when expectations are clear and effort is consistent.

SSTKD is not built around shortcuts. Students learn that progress comes through repetition, attention to detail, respect for instruction, and the willingness to keep working even when training becomes challenging.

What SSTKD Teaches

More than kicks, forms, and belts.

Tae Kwon Do gives students a clear way to practice discipline, confidence, respect, and perseverance. The physical skills matter, but the habits built through training matter just as much.

Discipline

Students learn to listen, follow instruction, practice with purpose, and take responsibility for their progress.

Confidence

Training helps students build confidence through effort, repetition, rank progression, and visible improvement.

Respect

Students are expected to show respect for instructors, classmates, families, the school, and themselves.
